Ethics and attribution

Wisdom belongs to everyone. Credit belongs to its source.

Wallet Wisdom is built on deep respect for the people, cultures, and sources from which insight emerges. This page exists to honor that.

Our intention

We do not claim ownership over wisdom.

Our goal is to help meaningful ideas remain present, usable, and alive in everyday moments. Every card is an invitation — not a conclusion. When we draw from an existing source, we hope it sends you back to that source with more curiosity than you started with.

We do not reproduce copyrighted material verbatim without permission. When wisdom is inspired by existing work, it is thoughtfully reinterpreted rather than directly quoted. Attribution is included not as a legal formality, but as an act of respect and an open door.

We believe wisdom is everywhere — in ancient texts and in the behavior of wolf packs, in therapeutic frameworks and in the quiet faithfulness of a chair. If you have the humility to look, everything is teaching something. That belief shapes every card we make.

Public domain sources

Wisdom drawn directly from works in the public domain — texts, teachings, and ideas that belong to everyone. We draw from these freely and acknowledge their origins wherever we can.

Original interpretations

Original expressions inspired by ideas, stories, and themes across philosophy, psychology, and lived experience. These are our own words, shaped by the wisdom we have gathered and the people who taught us.

Therapeutic concepts in everyday language

Concepts from evidence-based therapeutic frameworks — DBT, ACT, mindfulness, performance psychology — reinterpreted into practical, portable language. These are not clinical tools. They are invitations to explore further.

Cultural and oral traditions

Proverbs, stories, and teachings from communities across the world. Approached with humility and care for their origins.

Sources we draw from

Wisdom is everywhere. You just have to be willing to look.

We do not limit where wisdom can come from. The natural world teaches leadership and resilience. Objects teach faithfulness and purpose. People who have never written a book teach more than most who have. We take all of it seriously.

Philosophy and literature

Stoic, existentialist, and Eastern philosophical traditions. Works now in the public domain from thinkers across centuries and cultures.

Psychology and research

Clinical psychology, performance science, and behavioral research — reinterpreted for everyday moments, not clinical application.

The natural world

Animals, ecosystems, and natural systems carry wisdom that no textbook has fully captured. How wolves lead. How ants build. How trees survive storms by bending instead of breaking.

Cultural and oral traditions

Proverbs, stories, and teachings passed down through generations. No single author. Approached with particular humility.

Lived experience

The people we have worked with, learned from, and been changed by. Including Popi — whose card is still in a wallet today.

We believe anyone can leave a lasting legacy of wisdom and knowledge. Not just philosophers and researchers. You. The wisdom you have lived is worth carrying forward.

"Our hope is that each reference invites you to explore further — reading the book, learning the framework, or discovering more wisdom from the original source. Attribution is not a footnote. It is an open door."
